As noted at the top of the page, QKSL is currently FULL with 12 teams for the 2026 season. 

However, we maintain an official waiting list for individual players looking for teams or for new squads in the event of a withdrawal.

• Jersey & Team Policy: Duplicate team names and jersey colours are not permitted. All teams must have league-approved, unique names and colours to ensure clarity on the field. These are approved on a first-approved basis.
• Availability: Placement is strictly dependent on team needs and league availability.

If you are one of our 12 confirmed teams, please note that we have updated the league model for the 2026 season. To streamline operations and ensure full coverage, we have moved to a comprehensive Team Fee structure.

What the Team Fee Covers ($2,600)

The Team Fee is paid by the Captain or a designate to secure the squad's spot; how these funds are collected or divided among players is strictly an internal team matter. This inclusive fee covers full liability insurance for the entire team roster, all municipal field permits, hydro lighting, and professional field maintenance. On game days, the league provides professional umpires and all necessary league equipment, backed by year-round league administrative support including roster management, dispute resolution, and league-wide communications. Our primary administrative goal is to provide all teams in both divisions with balanced playing time across available fields and a fair rotation of time slots; however, please note that while we strive for perfect parity, schedules remain subject to change due to weather-related makeups, city permit adjustments, or unforeseen facility issues. The league reserves the right to adjust field assignments and time slots as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the season.

Captain Responsibility

• Communication: It is the Captain’s responsibility to relay all league communications, rule updates, and structural changes to their teammates.
• Playoff Eligibility: To eliminate mid-season or late-season confusion, our eligibility rules are firm. Every player on the roster qualifies for the playoffs only if she has played at least 1/3 of the regular season games.
• Roster Management and Eligibility: While we recognize that personal circumstances including medical, family, or professional changes can arise, the league cannot manage these individual team matters. To maintain fairness across both divisions, league eligibility policies remain firm for all participants. Captains are responsible for managing their own rosters and ensuring they have adequate backups throughout the season.
• Internal Finances: How a team manages their internal finances, player dues, or potential refunds is strictly an internal matter for that team and their Captains.
• Governing Rules: Further structured details regarding these responsibilities are defined in the official QKSL Rules and Regulations and the SPN Handbook.

Payment Methods

• Interac e-Transfer: Send to info@qksl.ca from any participating financial institution.
• CRITICAL: You must include a message/note with your Full Name and Team Name. We cannot identify payments from Business Accounts or maiden names without this note.
• Cash or Cheque: Please make payable to "Queens of King Softball League" or "QKSL." If you choose this method, please let us know by emailing the committee at committee@qksl.ca so we can coordinate the collection of your funds.

To maintain a stable 12-team schedule and ensure all administrative and insurance requirements are met, we strictly enforce the following timelines:

• Deposit Required: A non-refundable $500 deposit is collected to secure your team’s initial spot.
• Friday, May 1st – The Lock-In: All Annual Team Fees ($2,600 total) must be paid in full to the Executive, and all online Play Slo-Pitch Waivers must be completed by 11:59 PM.
• Schedule Verification: Teams are only considered "Locked In" for the season schedule once both the full QKSL registration fee and all individual SPN waivers are verified.
• Non-Refundable: All fees and deposits are non-refundable. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed games, weather-related cancellations, or team withdrawals.
• NSF Policy: Any returned cheques will result in a $45 NSF fee owed to QKSL.
